Trimbakeshwar Temple – one of 12 jyotirlingas in India

Trimbakeshwar temple, an ancient Hindu Pilgrim centre, is located in the Nasik district of Maharashtra state in India. Trimbakeshwar is famous for one of the twelve Jyothirlinga temples in India dedicated to Lord Shiva. The holy Jyothirlinga circuit will be complete with the visit to this sacred Shiva temple. The Linga in the temple is in the form of a three faced structure consisting Tridev, Brahma, Vishu and Shiva.

Trimbakeshwar town is ideally located in a naturally scenic location on the banks of the holy river Godavari. Godavari River originates from It. It is acclaimed as the perfect holy location to take bath in the sacred Godavari River. There are many mythological stories connecting Lord Shiva, Parvati, Lord Ganesha, the Ganga and Lord Brahma for the origin of the holy shrine of Trimbakeshwar.

The Hindu belief is that those who visit Trimbakeshwar attains salvation or Moksha. Trimbakeshwar is considered as the most sacred town India. There are many reasons for this belief. Godavari originates from the Brahmagiri hills in this town and it is believed that it is the birth place of Lord Ganesha, known as place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri. This place is believed to be the holiest and ideal place to do Shraddha ceremony, a Hindu ritual for the salvation of the soul.

The town is appealing with natural attractions. It is at the foothills of amazing Brahmagiri mountains nestled among lusting green woody trees and picturesque environments. Three tributaries of Godavari originate from this mountain range. The serene ambiance and the pleasant climate make the town of Trimbakeshwar a hot spot for nature loving tourists apart from Hindu pilgrims.

I am a student of architecture. And when I visited trimbakeshwar for the first time, I just fall in love with its architecture and natural beauty around it. There are
Narayan nagbali
and kaal sarp yog pujas are performed here.
